Have you decided that your next big adventure will be in the capital of Jordan? We have a few tips to help you make the most of your stay in Amman.

Sample the local cuisine

Amman offers a variety of dining options that you won’t find anywhere else. If you’re a food enthusiast, there are a few things you should check out. Two falafel restaurants in particular are renowned for being both delicious and affordable: Al Quds on Rainbow Street and Hashem on King Faisal Street. You also have to try knafeh, a tasty local pastry topped with cheese, syrup, and other toppings. Habibah Sweets is the best place for knafeh in Amman.

Be respectful of local customs

Jordan is still a relatively conservative country, so it’s best not to show too much skin. Dress comfortably but modestly if you want to avoid getting weird looks and if you want to be able to enter religious sites and locals’ homes. It’s also important to know that Jordanians are very hospitable people who love to offer visitors food and drink. If possible, avoid rejecting these offers so that you won’t seem rude.

Visit the Amman Citadel during sunset time

Not only is the Citadel a must-see spot in Amman because of its collection of immaculately preserved historical ruins and archaeological artifacts, it also offers a great view of the city, and the views look stunning behind the Jordan sunset. Going to the Citadel a bit later in the day might also mean the famous tourist attraction will be less crowded, giving you more time to enjoy the site.

If you’d like some reliable transportation while you’re exploring the city, Monte Carlo Rent A Car, LLC will let you rent a car in Amman airport. They also offer other services such as chauffeurs and GPS navigation.
